Karl was crafted many years ago by hand of wood,

and where he was finished he has faithfully stood, never speaking a word or in need of food,

Karl remains ever smiling and in a cheery mood.

Often confused at first glance for a man,

after seeing Karl’s back you know he’s of the

nutcracker clan,

with teeth that could crack any filbert, cashew or pecan,

though they’ve never been used,

that’s not in the plan.

For this loyal Cracka cannot be wooed,

Karl’s devotion cannot be unglued,

he remains ever on duty for it is understood,

Karl  guards all boys and girls who are good!
