Antique Column Capital Fragments

  • antique circa 1790
  • found in the French countryside
  • Either use as a pair, as bookends or decorative pieces. Or push together to create a column base to use as a riser.
  • Approximately 9" high x 12" wide (at widest point)

These wood fragments used to be a column capital (top decorative portion of a column) from a church interior or a grand home or chateau. The layered cascading carving of acanthus leaves was a highly used and sought after motif in European architecture.

Style this pieces as bookends, a riser/pedestal or as stand alone architectural pieces to give any space depth and that hint of a classical old world feel.
