We’ve heard many uses for your Bauble Stocking. Every year is different: jewelry, concert tickets, art lessons, scavenger hunts, love notes, riddles, trips, heirlooms, even puppies! We've even met newlyweds in Raleigh who alternate years planning surprise trips and grandparents using the stocking as a special envelope for handwritten checks.

Giving Back

Bauble Stockings are hand-stitched in Haiti for fair trade. Our stitchers are single moms who earn the equivalent of a nurse or teacher and can work from their homes. Starting this tradition in your home genuinely provides meaningful jobs in another. 5% profit of each sale goes to the Joan Rose Foundation in Jacmel, Haiti. It provides meals, tuition, books, housing, and a variety of other services to those in the community where our team lives.

The Original Story - From the Founder

Growing up, Kate's mom always received the last gift of Christmas as a special thank you for all she did for their family throughout the year.  Each holiday season, her dad would take her big brothers and her to lunch and they'd talk about their mom as a person- not just as their mom. They'd then pick out an extra special gift just for her.

This gift—or a clue to it—was hidden in her ornament-sized needlepoint stocking that hung on our tree.

Kate's dad called it her "Bauble Stocking" because, on a good year, it might contain a bauble, which is a piece of jewelry.

The tradition of brainstorming the perfect gift with her dad and brothers was a highlight of the season, and seeing her mom’s joy made it all the more special.
