Little history of the masked ball scented soap - Senteurs de France is based in Versailles. So it’s no surprise to offer products on the themes of Versailles, Marie-Antoinette….

For a while now I've been thinking about offering a product that reminds me of a masked ball. I met Alice and it is thanks to her talent as an illustrator that this idea was able to see the light of day. Also from Versailles, she immediately joined my illustration project on the theme of the masked ball. I had the 2 characters in mind. By mutual agreement we added the little cat for a little more fantasy and modernity to the design. I really enjoyed working with Alice. She showed a lot of involvement. His work is the result of extensive research on the chosen theme.

Let's talk about the perfume: why the violet you ask me? First of all, we had to offer a perfume that did not exist in our range and a perfume appreciated by Marie-Antoinette. The Queen appreciated floral, light and delicate scents. Of course rose was her favorite scent and violet was also one of her favorite scents. I worked with our perfumer from Grasse who offered me what he called “the queen's boudoir”. And here is the birth of the masked ball soap!

The Story Behind Senteurs de France

"I create products that directly evoke what we experience. Through their scents, they recall an atmosphere, a landscape, a place, a particular moment, a fragment of life."

Welcome to French heritage, to forgotten paths, bucolic countryside, castles to visit, the artisanal soap shop... through chic, illustrated and authentic products:
Senteurs de France was born from the idea of offering lovers of France artisanal and quality products: the artisanal soap shop. They stand out thanks to their original design, carrying authenticity and history.

Drawing on her experience in marketing for large corporations, Anne-Laure, along with Paula and Amandine, launched the business in 2015 by presenting three delightful boxes of Marseille soaps in Toiles de Jouy colors on a tiny stand at the Maison et Objet trade show. Sales immediately took off. Galeries Lafayette snapped up the boxes. National museum boutiques followed suit. And the Palace of Versailles opened its doors to them. Senteurs de France, the artisanal soap boutique, was launched!

Produced exclusively in France by artisans with unique expertise and sold in environments reminiscent of the "grand siècle" of Versailles, the Paris of Montmartre or even the charm of Provence, Anne-Laure's soaps, candles and other sweets have that indefinable sweetness that makes everyone say they are "So French"! The artisanal soap shop is called Senteurs de France.

As a child, Anne-Laure played in the gardens of Versailles. Looking at her collection of "French gardens," one can't help but think of Saint-Exupéry: "We only come from one country, the one of our childhood!"

Senteurs de France doesn't stop at French history. Nature is also a wonderful source of inspiration. The boxes in the graphic range perfectly illustrate a collection of animals and landscapes.

Senteurs de France uses various graphic designers to work on the designs.

Combining modern and more traditional styles, Senteurs de France seeks above all to offer beauty, dreams, and poetry. It also takes you along forgotten paths, to pick sprigs of lily of the valley, to discover forests, and to rediscover ancient tapestries.
